High Vitamin D Malted Chocolate Mylkshake (Recipe!)

This time of year, while beautiful, nostalgic, and cozy, can definitely pose some challenges. For one, days are shorter and darker, which can really do a number on our brains and our moods. If you're feeling a little bla lately and can't pinpoint why, shifting light levels could be the culprit. Not only can darker days cause us to feel sleepy and lethargic, that lack of sunlight can also translate directly to a lack of Vitamin D in our system, which is such a crucial nutrient for our overall health, impacting everything from our energy levels and immunity to the density of our bones.
This is the perfect time of year to start giving your body a boost of extra Vitamin D from our "sunshine in a jar" - High Vitamin D by Veggimins. The malty flavor comes from two more functional superfood ingredients: Peruvian mesquite pod meal and maca powders (hello sustained energy!). Our Salted Coconut Caramel and Crushed Cashew Raw Chocolate Bark was the perfect garnish, but feel free to choose whatever Rawmio bark is your current fave (we have 9 all together now!)
The Recipe
High Vitamin D Malted Chocolate Mylkshake
Serves 1
3 frozen bananas
1/4 cup coconut cream (the solid part of canned coconut milk - choose a BPA-free can if possible)
1 tsp coconut nectar or maple syrup
2 tbs raw cacao powder
1 serving (1/4 tsp) Veggimins High Vitamin D
1/2 tsp Veggimins Maca Matrix
1/2 Tbs mesquite pod meal
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1-1.5 cups purified water (depending on how thick/thin you want it)
Optional - 2-3 ice cubes
For garnishing: 1/2 Rawmio Active Superfood Bark crushed
Instructions
1. Blend until smooth, top with a crushed Rawmio Bark, and enjoy!
